MINTA is a structure system based on the art of weaving. The logic of the handicraft is translated into modular multi-layered surfaces that create a unique aesthetic and customizable design, innovated by 3D software and laser cutting technology. By creating a modular system which must be assembled by hand, we return to the roots of the traditional handicraft.
Its purpose is to combine structural knowledge gained through two-dimensional structure study with three-dimensional surface study.
This project was developed under the WORTH Partnership Project Grant. The final stages of the partnership saw the creation and assembly of a unique installation. Its purpose is to present the technique through storytelling: the metamorphosis between terrestrial nature and the underwater world. In this process, we aim to show a wide range of potential patterns, sizes, shapes, and materials. The goal is to showcase the structure system (architectural organic forms) in multiple applications - architecture, interior design, product design, and fashion design.
